IRN201 - Laneway Suite Project.
The Sunlight Portal Suite is located in Leslieville. The materials and details we see today in Leslieville stem from the brick mining and industrial era of the early 1900s. This laneway suite addresses the spacial context of the site. The many light portals through the perforated brick walls affect the entirety of the interior space creating a warm glow on the interior. The offset of the bricks and perforations in between them allows for light to enter while maintaining privacy. The use of brick creates a connection to the history of Leslieville.
